Three Wheel Bicycles With Baskets
I’m trying to buy a bicycle. Which kind is best for me?
I’m a college student, and I live about 45 50 minutes away from my school by car. I’m wanting to cut down on the amount of gas I use each week ($60-80) so i thought, I could drive to work, and ride my bike to school. If everything goes as planned, I will be taking my classes all on one day. And I’m a bit bigger than most so here are my requirements:
Comfortable for long distances
Some sort of basket for my books
Low Priced, I only make like 200 a week, 80 of which goes towards gas
A really large weight limit, like 350 ish I don’t know if bikes can even hold that much weight…
I haven’t rode a bike since 6th grade or sometime around then, and I use to love it. I want to get in shape and the bike riding seems like a good way, do they make bikes that can carry someone my size? (even a granny bike with three wheels and a basket under the seat) lol
A hybrid with double wall rims & a “freehub” and cassette – not a freewheel hub. You’re looking in the $450 to $500 range. Links below. Add a rear rack & panniers – you’re good to go.
Anything less will break down in a very short period of time. In other words…avoid Wally World & other discount store bicycles. You need a bike that will take the weight, use & abuse. Discount store & big box store bikes don’t cut it.
