Has this sort of thing ever happened to you?

Yesterday I was exploring the derelict Harefield limeworks with two friends of mine. I usually enter via a path, but the new owners of the site have moved a skip to make passage impossible. So I found another way in. After a while of exploring, we went to visit the world war two machine gun nest that was built along the nearby canal. Because of the dense growth surrounding the area, we left the bicycles (one normal bicycle and one bicycle built for two – a tandem). When we returned, we found that the tandem was missing. Not wanting to waste any time, I lept onto the remaining bicycle and cycled down the hill, balancing my crowbar on the handlebars just in case. I thought that as the site was rather difficult to access, whoever had taken it might have discarded it while attempting to escape. I found it in the skip that was blocking the path out of there.

I suspect they only wanted a joyride.
I mean, who wouldn’t want a joyride on a tandem?
