Remove Bicycle Grease
What cleaning product will safely remove stubborn grease from vinyl upholstery?
I think the “grease” stain may actually be from a bicycle tire that was sitting on the upholstery. Regardless, it’s a very stubborn black mark that won’t come off. I welcome any reasonable suggestions.
You can remove the grease with dish washing liquid or with Fast Orange™ Hand Cleaner.
To use dish washing liquid, mix a small amount of dish washing liquid into a bowl of water. Then scrub with this. After scrubbing, wipe with wet rags or paper towels to remove the dish washing liquid.
It doesn’t matter which brand you use, as long as it’s a good name brand. Most people recommend Dawn, but I’ve found other brands work just as well…Ajax, Palmolive, Joy, etc.
Dish washing liquid is specifically formulated to break down oils. It will break down the stain and allow you to wipe it away.

If the stain proves to be too stubborn for dish washing liquid, use Fast Orange™. Pour some Fast Orange onto a wet rag and scrub gently with this. Fast Orange contains solvents and pumice, which is abrasive, so rub carefully…however, you CAN remove extremely stubborn oil stains with it and not harm your upholstery, as long as you are gentle.
After you have rubbed out the stain, wipe with wet rags or paper towels.
Fast Orange is made to remove motor oil from mechanics hands, so it is very effective, but also very gentle. It works miracles with stubborn oil stains.

Make sure you buy the Fast Orange with Pumice. The non-pumice Fast Orange is practically useless.
