Bike Pump
Is it safe to use a bike pump to clean my computer?
I was going to buy a can of compressed air to clean the inside of my computer (since touching the inside is apparently a very bad idea, also not gonna use a vacuum). But before I do that, I want to try using a bike pump.
I don’t really care about the effectiveness, because I can find that out myself. What I need to know is, is there any danger to using a bike pump? Could it have any static problems or etc.?
As long as your pump doesn’t have junk in it everything will be fine. The problem is that a lot of bike pumps contain oil which can spray out onto the computer. If this happens it will short the motherboard. Make sure you leave the computer plugged in while dusting to eliminate the static problems. Also, you can touch the inside of the computer, just watch out for spinning fans. Trust me, I wouldn’t touch my gaming rig if I wasn’t positive that it was alright.
