Bike Neck
My cousin fell off her bike and has a scrape on her neck, knees, and her toes hurt. HELP!?
I put neosporin on everything. and soothing cream for wounded . ice for her toe. what else to make her not hurt. she’s also hungry..so i said ice cream. cuz’ she says it hurts to swollow. please help me with other suggestions that WON’T HURT!
Are you babysitting? If not, just give her over to her parents.
Otherwise, put in a funny movie like The Incredibles or Monsters, Inc. without really saying anything. Hold hand and bring her over to the couch to sit. Then put your arm around her and rock her a little while you let her calm down. She isn’t so much hurt right now as upset. You need to let her know that it’s okay and that she is safe without all of the words. Words don’t convince a kid of much of anything.
She has to be exaggerating about the swallowing, because no how is it possible to have trouble swallowing after scraping your skin. If anything else, get some wet wash clothes and put them on each of the owwie areas.
I guess I’m assuming you’re the older one. If not, just tell her to chill out and ask her if she wants to watch movie A or movie B. (you get to decide which movies since you have to put up with her.)
If there is an emergency number to call her parents or yours, call it if she is sobbing without stop.
