Bike Dog Trailer
Dog chewing problem?
Hi everyone
I have a lab x boxer, who really is a lovely dog. He’s great with kids, very loyal, affectionate … usually very obediant. He goes for daily walks/runs, has a dog friend, and has a few bones to chew on. He’s no longer teething, KNOWS he shouldnt chew up things that arent his (I know this because when he has done it, and sees me coming, he acts very guilty, and runs away), BUT STILL CHEWS up anythign he can find.
He’s done a bike helmet, many many of my daughters toys, a dvd, a casette tape, a trailer cable. God only knows what else. Hes only ever done it once when I was watching .. for which he was growled at, given a smack and sent to bed. All the other times, he does it behind my back.
Ive tried, taking him to his destructive mess, and pushing his face down and yelling … Ive bought a chain to tie him up to as punishment. Buggered if I know what to do next….
Please can you help me … its driving me nuts.

Sorry, no push button answers with this problem. And no push button dogs either.
However, you can solve your chewing problem with good obedience training and proper management. It will take dedication, commitment and consistency; but it is well worth the effort.
Rush out and buy The Koehler Method of Dog Training, by William R. Koehler. It is an excellent book that can get you where you need to go with your dog. You could not give your dog (or yourself) a better gift.
