Bicycle Pump With Gauge
Is the natural gas leak in front or behind the meter?
I hooked up the test gauge (3/4 female threads) with an air stem to pump air in the gas piping. I did this outside house side of the meter. Not ground side. I pump (bicycle pump) air into the system and the pump is giving me almost no resistance and I can hear the diapham (which is ground side of me) vibrating and couldn’t get the gauge register any pounds. For months the gas supposedly turned off but I could smell gas downstairs where I had some open gas lines. I didn’t think it would take months for those lines to clear out. I wish I did discover 2 pinhole leaks right above the turn-off outside. I didn’t seem like that would compensate the inability to accumulate air pressure. I wish I had more info.
I sprayed all joints that where accesible with soap solution in the house.
I fix things. I save money. Gas Co want 80 per hour. They will be in and out in 20 min. , But I did call them.
If you have a gas leak maybe you should get the gas company in to look for it, it could explode or gas you. No?
