Bicycle Derailleur Repair Parts
Bike repair question??
I got my bike repaired in the bicycle shop which is two towns away from my house I have heard the mechanic there is very good and he does all the racing bikes etc so I though I would bring my bike there as my gear cable snapped and one of my back spokes broke. When my dad picked up my racing bike the mechanic said the overall price for a full service of the rear derailleur and front and the brakes and fitting the gear cable would be 15 euro.
Can you please tell me why it was not expensive I thought to get a new spoke put in the rim and put a new gear cable in and a full service would have cost more than 15 euro on a racing bike?
Also do bike mechanics not charge labour and for parts?

Yeah the gear cable is four euros to buy off the shop your self and how much is a spoke to buy?
How much do you think the labour was on the repair of the bike?
Cables & spokes are cheap. I’m terrible at converting euros over to dollars. But here in the states a spoke is only about $1.00. Cables, maybe $2 to $3.00. Don’t complain. If he does good work & is cheap – stick with him. Support your local bike shop.
