Discs breaks require less adjusting than ordinary bicycle brakes?
I have a racing bike and just wondering do disc brakes need less adjustment than normal racing Bike Brakes please I don’t know the name of the racing style brakes.
Is this true about disc brakes: On hybrid bikes only town usage
The pads last longer than brake pads.
The discs last a long time
Disc brakes are have very good stopping power compared to standard bicycle brakes
There are two types of calipers one which uses a cable to push the pistons out of the caliper.
There is also hydraulic ones.
Can you tell me what is your feeling on disc brakes Im really interested in buying a hybrid bike with disc brakes as I feel the brake pads need alignment and you have to check them before every ride or they could slow you down or be rubbing on the rim. Can you also tell me how often would they need to be maintained. etc check brake pads.

yes the pads do last longer
yes the disk should last the life of the bike
yes they have better stopping power then caliper or direct pull brakes
yes the are two main kinds, hydraulic ones that use the piston and Mechanical ones that as you pull it move the pad closer
i like them much better than direct pull and way more then caliper brakes. they also work in wet weather. as for alignment the pads on disk brakes are much closer the the disk then rim brakes are to the rim, so you need the alignment needs to be on much more. but it is less likely to fall out of alignment. also they work just as well if the rim is a little out of true
so yes i like them better
